Students learn about phenomenons of cultural globalization in different fields.
Cultural globalization can be understood as a process of standardization of cultural expressions around the world.
This process is marked by the common consumption of cultures that have been diffused by the Internet, popular culture media, and international travel.
One example of cultural globalization to be critically discussed is the theory and practice fof Mindfulness.
Other ecamples can be found in consumption. Probably Mc Donalds is one of the most prominent phenomenons worldwide. The rise of transnational labor markets is another process to be investigated in the context of cultural globalizetion.
However, the strength and the persistance of local cultures should not be underestimated in this debate.
