Die Studierenden haben einen Überblick über die wichtigsten Teilbereiche der Informatik und kennen die Grundlagen der praktischen, technischen und theoretischen Informatik.

- Einführung in die Informatik (Historie, Speicherung von Informationen, Boolesche Algebra, Aufbau eines Computers, vom Algorithmus zum Maschinenprogramm)
- Praktische Informatik (Programmiersprachen, Algorithmen und Datenstrukturen, Datenbanken)
- Technische Informatik (Bausteine von Computern, Schaltnetze und Schaltwerke, Prozessorarchitekturen)
- Theoretische Informatik (Automatentheorie, Berechenbarkeitstheorie, Komplexitätstheorie)
